In MacDraft you can draw either in inches or in metric units. Before you begin your document, you have to decide which scale and units that you wish to work in.
Once you have drawn your document, unless the scale you are currently using can be expressed in the units you wish to change to, it can not be done. For example - if your document is in inches at 1:1 scale, it can be expressed as 1:1 in metric so you can change it. If your document is in inches at 1"=1' and you wish to change it to metric, you have to change it to 1:1, if does change then you can express the document in metric and set the scale as desired.
If you can not set the scale to 1:1 then you can not express the current document in the other units as there is no corresponding scale available. your current document is 12:1 and there is no 12:1 scale in metric units, only 10:1.
What you have to do is to do select all, copy, open a new document at the scale and units you want, and paste.
