Here is my first rendering of the main room of my planned retirement home. It's the front half of the 'great room'. The height is 14 feet at the sides. The room is 20 feet wide and 48 feet long. There is a fireplace in the middle on the outside wall. This is a timber frame house with oak posts and beams. I haven't been able to add the cathedral ceiling yet, I'm still learning.

There is a courtyard outside those windows. |

Here is the back half of the great room. Some furniture faces a flat screen TV on the wall and the fireplace on the middle of the outside wall. In the corner of the back wall there is another fireplace. This house is heated by wood since it is deep in applachia. A greenhouse is on the back wall and faces south. The greenhouse helps heat the house.
