If the cable you are using is a Microspot Converter Tool, the answer is NO as the converter cable requires serial port.
If you are using a USB to Parallel adaptor cable, it depends on the make of the cable and the printer being used.
Not all USB to Parallel adaptor cables work with Mac OSX, specially with old legacy printers (such as Hewlett Packard 2xx/3xx/4xx series)and in testings we found that no USB to parallel adaptor cables worked with older Encad printers so alternative connection method has to be used such JetDirect EX or SEH print server box.

I am trying to print from client macs running Lion to a G3 print server running 10.2 hooked up to an Encad Cadjet II by older USB to parallel. Everything appears to be working until it finishes rasterizing and then nothing happens at the plotter. How would I use something like the SEH print server from my server machine to the Encad?
